Ar. Anjith Augustine

Founder & Principal Architect

Anjith Augustine completed  Masters in Urban Design from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi in the year 2013 and  Bachelor of Architecture Degree from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi in the year 2011.
He started city futures in the year 2013 with the vision to make a collaborative platform for urban design and architecture. He is a multiple award winner for young architect awards and is also a visiting faculty at KMEA College of Architecture. Currently he is also secretary to IUDI Kerala Chapter.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

•Currently Visiting Faculty at KMEA College of Architecture, Edathala, Ernakulam( June 2014-  )

•Worked as Visiting Faculty at Mookambika College of Architecture, Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam (June 2013 – May 2014)

•Principal Architect at City+Futures Design Collaborative, Aluva, Ernakulam (Dec 2013-  )

 

TRAINING PROGRAMS ATTENDED:

•Member of Organizing team of Living Monsoon 2017, a two year long exposition on tropical Architecture conducted by IIA Cochin centre.

•Team Head in Thrissur NEXT Urban Design Workshop 2015, a week long residential program for urban development of Thrissur City conducted by GEC Thrissur, IIA Thrissur & TUDA.

•Participated the international Symposium on TROPICAL ARCHITECTURE & URBANISM at Dept. of Architecture, College of Engineering, Trivandrum from 28th -30th September 2015.

•Attended COA approved QIP program organised by IIA Cochin Centre, a workshop on Technology in Architecture-II in 2014.

LIST OF PUBLISHED WORKS:

•Co-edited the book titled ‘LIVING MONSOON’, a compilation of projects from tropical region by various architects and synthesis of the concept of monsoon architecture. Published by DC Books in 2017 with ISBN No: 978-93-5282-032-0

•Presented Seminar paper titled ‘Designed Chaos over imposed Chaos: An exploration into a pedagogy of architecture by understanding chaos’ at Thanima 2 (2nd international conference on Design pedagogy & contextual aesthetics), a 3 day seminar conducted by NIT Calicut (under TEQIP) EKF Pune & IIA Calicut Centre from 19th to 21st January, 2017.

•Presented Seminar paper titled ‘Predicting the unpredictable’ on at International Conference on Changing cities Challenges to urban planning & Design (ICCC-2015) under the aegis of 4th international conference at GEC Thrissur ICETEST 2015. Published by Elsevier code:PROTCY2589.

•Co-authored Paper titled 'Precolonial & post Colonial elements in the Syrian Christian Churches of Kerala-Establishing the plurality and multi religious base of Syrian Christian Architecture in Kerala’ published in the Journal of the Indian Institute of Architects in June 2017 volume 82 issue-5 (ISSN-0019-4913)

ACHIEVEMENTS:

•Commendation award for Kochi- Vyttila water metro Terminal design Competition conducted by KMRL in 2017. (Shortlisted among top 6 entries)

•Vanitha Veedu -Best Public Space Award for Society grounds project- 2017

•Parpidam Award for Best Debut Architect of year 2016.

•Parpidam award for best Home under 50 lakhs category 2014.

•University 1st rank for masters in Urban Design (M.Arch) 2013.

•University 10th rank for bachelors of Architecture degree 2011.

•6th rank in AIEEE Architecture entrance exam & 2nd rank in Kerala Architecture Entrance test.

•14th rank in Kerala state SSLC exam 2004.
